I’m excited to share a tour of Isaac’s modern + colorful baby boy nursery!
I’m super excited to share with you Isaac’s modern + colorful nursery! We didn’t really want to go with a theme (gasp!) or a specific color scheme. I just wanted it to be fun, colorful, and playful. I chose items that just made me feel happy. This was the most fun room to decorate because I could be so creative with it. I was going for light-colored walls and light/neutral furniture with pops of bright colors here and there. I think Isaac will really enjoy his space as he gets older. It’s perfect for an adventurous (read: wild) little boy.
I love this crib from Walmart (yes, Walmart believe it or not!). I found out about this crib from one of my favorite blogs Young House Love. It’s a 3-in-1 crib that has four levels and converts to a toddler and a daybed. AND, the best part is the drawer on the bottom for tons of extra storage space. Thanks to Isaac’s Mimi and Papaw for gifting us the crib for Christmas!
I’m so in love with this artwork from my favorite Etsy shop, Water In My Paint! Seriously, she is an amazing artist. I found Deidre’s shop a few years ago and bought a few prints. I knew when we had children that I wanted to go back to her shop to buy nursery artwork. It’s so fun and happy, exactly the vibe I was going for in Isaac’s nursery. My favorite is the squirrel with the “mom” tattoo.
The smaller 8x10s are some fun prints that I pulled out of one of the most awesome things I’ve ever discovered, a book full of art prints you can easily take out of the book and frame, The Custom Art Collection – Art for the Eclectic Home: A Collection of Frameable, Original Prints from Top Artists. I have used many prints out of this book all over the house and I love to switch prints out occasionally.
This mobile came from a really cool Etsy shop, Little Drops of Sun. I love all of Sarah’s handmade mobiles. It was really hard to decide on which mobile to get, but ultimately I choose the one with little blue clouds. I really love the pop of color it gave the room.
Keith and I made the bookshelves ourselves using a plan by another one of my favorite bloggers, Ana White. These were super simple to make, it only took us a couple of hours. Once I had them finished, I painted them white with a satin paint. I love the way they turned out!
Changing Table and Teepee
Finding a changing table proved to be the hardest part of putting together the nursery. I actually wanted a dresser, but I’m only 5’0″ so none of the dressers we looked at were low enough for me to actually use as a changing table. We ended up going with the basic IKEA Gulliver changing table. We just used little bins we picked up at IKEA for organization on the shelves. The cute changing pad cover is from another Etsy shop, ModFox (can you tell that I love Etsy?).
I saw a teepee in a few different nurseries on Pinterest and I loved the idea! I would’ve loved to have had that in my room as a child. It was really hard to find a plain white teepee that was affordable, but I finally found it on Amazon (of course).
We received the glider as a Christmas gift from my parents (Isaac’s Granny and Pawpaw). There are so many rockers and gliders out there, it was really hard to decide on one. But I absolutely love this one because it’s wide and comfy! There’s plenty of room for both me and Keith to sit and read to Isaac. We found the glider on Amazon, too. The little poof is from Wayfair. I love the bright green color!
I love the way everything came together for his nursery. It’s so fun and colorful! It’s one of my favorite rooms in the house. I hope this brings you lots of inspiration!
